Writing SOS

Writing SOS was paying for a hosted CMS they never actually used. The subscription fees were going toward a system that added complexity without adding value — their site was essentially static content that didn’t need a database or a managed platform behind it.
We rebuilt it completely on Hugo — identical design, identical content, but with the CMS stripped out and replaced with static files. To a visitor nothing changed. Behind the scenes, the subscription fees disappeared and the site now runs for free.
This is a common situation. If you’re running a simple portfolio or informational site on WordPress, Squarespace, or a managed CMS — there’s a good chance you’re paying for infrastructure you don’t need.
